Change in China has been dramatic during the three decades since December 1978 and the introduction of that country’s ‘reform and openness’. Understanding those changes is crucial for Australia and the rest of the world. Economic growth brings demands for resources, goods and services. But the social, cultural and political changes accompanying the economic growth also stand to alter Australia's relations with China and our common region

The UTS China initiative provides a platform for community, business, industry and government to interact with UTS experts on China and to gain benefit from their expertise across a host of areas related to contemporary China. Located in the heart of Sydney’s China Town UTS China draws these diverse groups into connection with UTS China experts’ current insights into ‘real world’ China.

Support UTS China
The UTS China Research Centre seeks support to expand its activities through sponsorship of the Centre, as well as of professorial chairs, professorships, postdoctoral fellowships and postgraduate research scholarships.

Benefits to sponsors will include:
Naming rights and promotion; exclusive briefings on research undertaken by the Centre; consultancy advice from Centre staff; and invited participation in Centre activities.

UTS China Researchers and Projects
Researchers within UTS China engage in both pure and applied research, designed to both inform and service the wider community. Recent and current projects and consultancies in China and Australia conducted by UTS China researchers have considered a raft of projects related to dynamics of change in present day China. UTS China researchers have numerous national and international leadership roles in research and professional bodies.
